"Based on our projections, from the 20th, without these funds we will face an extremely delicate cash position. This could mean not paying commitments to players, agents, clubs, taxes and debts under judicial recovery, which could lead to fines, issues with the CBF financial sustainability system, failure to consolidate the new tax settlement, and a transfer ban," said CEO Fred Luz.
According to Globo.com, Vasco’s SAF has asked the court to release a DIP loan of up to R$ 150 million, seen as essential to reinforce the squad in this window and to meet near-term financial obligations. The judge has paused the request, awaiting a partial audit report requested by 777 Partners.
The club says it respects the decision but is seeking to accelerate the process, weighing an appeal or a motion for reconsideration.
Luz said the financing was already built into the SAF’s planning and that the need for resources was known to bodies overseeing the judicial recovery. It is intended to secure cash flow, meet payroll and scheduled court-supervised payments, and support football operations.
He added that the shortfall is directly affecting football planning, with resources needed for upfront payments in contracts and other commitments.
The executive also said the Judicial Administrator had signalled support for the new financing, and that accounts for previous DIP loans had been filed with the court and its auxiliaries.
