Vasco have sealed a permanent deal for Andrés Gómez, agreeing to activate the option in his loan from Rennes. According to Globo.com, the club will pay a little over 4.5 million euros for 60% of the Colombian forward’s economic rights, about R$ 30 million.

Gómez shone in the second half of 2025. He was their standout in the Copa do Brasil semi-finals and final.

He joined on the recommendation of Admar Lopes mid last year. The 23-year-old finished 2025 with 21 appearances, one goal and seven assists.

He displaced Vegetti from the starting line-up and established himself as a key figure. For 2026, Vasco’s priority is to secure permanent stays for last year’s on-loan starters Carlos Cuesta, Robert Renan and Andrés Gómez.

Rennes paid 10 million euros to sign Gómez from Real Salt Lake a year ago, aiming to limit losses in this latest deal. He first broke through at Millionarios in 2022 and moved to Real Salt Lake for 3.5 million dollars.

After two MLS seasons, he logged 30 goal contributions in 65 matches, then was sold to Rennes.
