Vasco have sold out São Januário for Sunday’s 23rd-round meeting with Santos, kick-off 16:00.

Diario Do Peixe notes that it is a head-to-head near the foot of Série A. Santos are 17th, first in the drop zone, on 22 points with five wins, seven draws and nine defeats, scoring 29 and conceding 35.

Vasco have the same tally and sit one place below, with an identical record but 23 scored and 31 conceded.

On Thursday 13, in the Sudamericana last-16 first legs, Santos beat Macará 2-1 at Vila Belmiro while Vasco drew 0-0 with Olimpia at São Januário. Santos head coach Pedro Emanuel largely kept his first-choice side, though Cuesta and Jair were rested, Andrés Goméz was managed due to pain and Brenner has a left foot ligament injury.

Vasco could hand debuts to Argentinian pair Santiago Sosa and Facundo Colidio, while left-back Cuiabano is suspended after a third yellow. Santos should remain without Lucas Veríssimo, Igor Vinicius, Gustavo Henrique and Pepe Fermino. Gabriel Menino and Gabriel Bontempo could also be missing after both went off before the interval on Thursday and are awaiting test results.
