Vasco have scheduled two virtual assemblies in October to rule on disciplinary recommendations, including a proposal to expel former president Jorge Salgado and penalise his predecessor Alexandre Campello.

According to PaponaColina, the Deliberative Council president João Riche called sessions for 15 and 22 October to vote on reports from inquiries opened in June 2024.

The second meeting will centre on Salgado, who oversaw the sale of football to 777 Partners. As a grande benemérito, his fate rests with the council. He said he would respect the Council’s decision, and has filed a criminal complaint for slander and defamation against the seven investigators, with a hearing due early next month at the Public Prosecutor’s Office.

On 15 October, councillors will review accounts and agreements from Campello’s tenure, notably the Kappa renewal. Rapporteurs split three for acquittal, two for a six-month suspension and two for permanent expulsion, with the final word assigned to administrative president Pedrinho because Campello is an ordinary member.

Campello condemned what he regards as politically driven targeting, questioned whether Nike offered a better deal than Kappa and pointed to the pandemic context. He was cleared by the rapporteurs on supplier and labour contingency items, though former legal and financial aides face requests for temporary suspension.

Disciplinary proposals also reach past electoral figures, including a recommendation to expel former presidential candidate Julio Brant. A member of the group that endorsed the share transition before a split with allies, his case goes directly to Pedrinho’s board for decision.
