Vasco have exercised the option to buy midfielder Luiz Lócio from Resende, with the 19-year-old signing a three-year contract on Thursday morning. The deal includes a release clause set at 60 million euros, about R$ 389 million at the current rate.
According to Globo.com, Vasco paid R$ 3.7 million for 60% of his economic rights. He is on the club’s list for the Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior.
The intention is to also use him in the opening matches of the Campeonato Carioca with the senior side led by Fernando Diniz.
Born in Patos, Paraíba, Lócio came through Resende’s academy and also spent time at Atlético Mineiro in 2024.
He joined Vasco in March last year and impressed for the under-20s, making 43 appearances and scoring seven goals. His loan had been due to end in late February.
