Vasco da Gama have announced the signing of Colombian forward Marino Hinestroza on a four-year deal, brought in to replace the recently sold Rayan. The club said in a statement that he is due in Rio de Janeiro in the coming days once formalities with Atlético Nacional are completed.
Known for his attacking intent, pace and dribbling, Hinestroza is expected to add thrust to the Cruzmaltino attack.
With Rayan’s sale, Vasco are doubling down on a policy of investing in young international talents with scope to grow. They are backing Hinestroza to adapt quickly to Fernando Diniz’s possession-based, quick-transition style, maintaining competitiveness in national and regional competitions.
Supporters hope the Colombian can assume a leading role in the frontline. The squad and coaching staff regard him as an immediate reinforcement.
Hinestroza arrives with the task of helping sustain Vasco’s attacking output across the 2026 season, aiming to contribute goals and assists in the Campeonato Brasileiro and other tournaments.
