Vasco ‘to announce’ R$70m-a-year main sponsor after rejecting two betting firms | OneFootball

Vasco da Gama are in the final stages of confirming a new main sponsor worth about R$ 70 million a year in fixed income, having turned down approaches from 01bet and EnergiaBet.

Jogada10 reports that values were not the issue. The club’s compliance team blocked talks due to weak financial guarantees and doubts over long-term payments.

The front-of-shirt slot has been vacant since the end of 2025 following the expiry of the Betfair deal. President Pedrinho’s administration prioritised caution over speed. The goal is partners with the stature of Nike, the kit supplier.

Although the board would like to diversify beyond betting, the market remains dominated by that sector. The shortlist focused on financially solid operators, and the candidate under discussion met criteria that 01bet and EnergiaBet did not.

With legal checks complete and the base value agreed, the remaining work is commercial. Club and sponsor are discussing targets and bonuses, with Vasco pushing for aggressive performance and engagement triggers.

The club proposes unlocking bonuses for reaching the last 16 of the Copa do Brasil and the Copa Sul-Americana, and for a top-10 finish in the Campeonato Brasileiro. The company prefers semi-finals in the cups and at least a top-6 league finish.

Once that is agreed, Vasco will restore a main sponsor, with guarantees that the promised funds are properly backed.
