Vasco ‘to sign’ Cuiabano on loan with option to buy | OneFootball

Vasco are close to signing 22-year-old left-back Cuiabano, who spent the past two seasons at Botafogo, on loan from Nottingham Forest. The deal is not yet signed, but talks are advanced.

According to Boteco do Amadeu, only medical tests and contract paperwork remain before completion.

Forest and Vasco have reached agreement on the terms and discussions accelerated in recent hours. The proposed move would run until the end of the year with an option to buy.

Cuiabano accepted Vasco’s salary offer last week and pressed for the move. Executive director Admar Lopes led negotiations and spoke directly with the defender.

The Rio club’s interest dates back to early January. Although Lucas Piton covers the position, the board felt the need for another option.

With limited minutes at Nottingham Forest, the player’s desire to return to Brazil has helped the deal progress.
