Vasco v Fluminense Carioca semi-final to be played at Estádio Nilton Santos | OneFootball

The Rio de Janeiro state federation confirmed the first leg of the Cariocão semi-final between Vasco and Fluminense will be played at Estádio Nilton Santos on Sunday at 18:00.

The Maracanã is unavailable because the other semi-final, Flamengo v Madureira with Flamengo as the home side, takes place the same day.

The match will be shown live on TV Globo, Premiere and sportv.

Unlike the quarter-finals, the semi-finals are two-legged. The final is a single match. There is no advantage, and if the aggregate is level the tie will be decided on penalties.

The rivals meet again a little over two months after settling a Copa do Brasil final berth in December 2025, when both games were at the Maracanã. Vasco won 2-1 in the first match, Fluminense took the return 1-0, and Vasco progressed on penalties.

Fluminense are chasing a seventh Cariocão final in the last eight years, the only miss since 2020 came in 2024 when they fell in the semi-final. Vasco are aiming for a first state final in seven years, last reached in 2019.
