Vasco face an uncertain final stretch of the window, with 23 days remaining, after a court froze their R$ 150 million DIP loan, intended for entities in judicial recovery, pending a detailed audit report. The application will be assessed only after the new document is submitted.

According to Globo.com, preparing the report will take at least 15 days, and every legal step must be cleared by two intervenors, the Public Prosecutor's Office, the Gatekeeper and the case judge.

There is internal concern the funds might arrive only after 11 September, the final day of the window. The club plans to file an appeal or a request for reconsideration to try to expedite release.

The money is earmarked mainly for initial payments on targeted signings. Deals have largely been structured with most instalments pushed into next year, yet a portion is typically due this year, often upfront, which Vasco can only meet with the loan.

The squad needs a centre-forward, and market work is advanced for a centre-back and a midfielder. Progress is unlikely without firm financial guarantees.

If the loan does not come through and the budget stays as is, the board will have to pivot towards free agents and loan opportunities.
