Vasco will be without Brenner and Thiago Mendes for Saturday's 20th-round meeting with Mirassol at São Januário, kick-off 20:30.

According to Globo.com, both were ruled out by the medical department after presenting viral gastroenteritis, with their condition worsening on Friday.

Brenner had reclaimed a starting spot in the last match under Pedro Emanuel, against Independiente Medellín in the Copa Sul-Americana.

Thiago Mendes is a mainstay of the side and the team captain.

Vasco sit 17th in the Campeonato Brasileiro on 20 points and are chasing a first win under Pedro Emanuel to leave the relegation zone. The fixture is a direct meeting between two Z-4 teams.
