Vasco have been drawn to face Vitória in the Copa do Brasil quarter-finals, with the first leg at home, but president Pedrinho has yet to decide between São Januário and the Maracanã.
The ties are scheduled for the weeks of 26 August and 2 September, with Vasco to host the opener. According to Globo.com, the Maracanã remains an option, as in the previous round against Fluminense.
Pedrinho reiterated a preference for São Januário, yet said he will decide only after consulting the coaching staff and players. He called it a sporting choice focused on performance, while acknowledging the Maracanã’s recent energy and atmosphere.
He described Vitória as a very tough opponent for Vasco and said that should remain the case in the quarter-finals, praising how the team are led on and off the pitch.
Before that, Vasco face Olimpia at São Januário on Thursday in the Sul-Americana round of 16 first leg. The tie will be decided on the 19th.
