The meeting, awaited with apprehension, served for the "Pirate" to lay his cards on the table. Given the athlete's explicit desire to accept the new challenge, Vasco is now working to find the "best way to comply with the request," but imposes a non-negotiable condition: to obtain financial advantage.

The management dismisses any possibility of releasing their top scorer and captain without costs, demanding compensation commensurate with his importance to the team.

Diniz admits the possibility of departure

The farewell atmosphere also transpired in the post-game press conference. Coach Fernando Diniz, always transparent, did not shy away from the subject and, for the first time, publicly admitted that there is a chance of losing the player.

"There are rumors about Cerro Porteño. He is another player I like very much. At no time was he out of my plans. Now, if something different happens and he has the desire to leave, it is something that will be discussed at some point. He became an idol in a very complicated moment. Diniz made a point of exalting Vegetti's legacy, recalling the crucial impact the Argentine had in the club's recent history, avoiding a relegation that would have been "disastrous."

"Vegetti is a guy who has a lot of importance in recent history. He is a great scorer and a fan idol. He always helped me, playing or not playing. At no time was he out of the plans. In the coming days, whether there will be a negotiation or not, I cannot tell you now," he concluded.

The statement makes it clear that, although they count on the athlete, the technical command and management are already preparing for a future without the number 99, should the figures please Vasco.
