Venezia have pulled out of a move for Akor Adams as Sevilla hold firm at 20m euros.

The newly promoted Serie A club made a formal approach, tabling a bid in excess of 10m euros. Canal Sur Radio reports the Venetians are not prepared to meet the valuation, so Adams will not be playing at the Pier Luigi Penzo next season.

Venezia had quickly secured full agreement on personal terms with the Nigerian striker. With the contract side settled, Sevilla’s stance ultimately halted a transfer that had seemed close.

Sevilla, led by José Ignacio Navarro, rate Adams highly after 10 LaLiga goals last season. They are seeking to maximise his value to help repair finances, which now forces a rethink of planned departures.

Interest from Italy extends beyond Adams. Radio Marca says Atalanta BC and ACF Fiorentina have opened initial talks with the camp of Juanlu Sánchez over a possible move. The academy graduate is contracted until 30 June 2029 after an unexpected breakdown in negotiations to join SSC Nápoles, and for now both players remain at Sevilla.
