Venue and kick-off time confirmed for UEFA Youth League visit of Benfica

The Toon teenagers will face the Portuguese outfit, who won the competition in 2022, at Whitley Park on Tuesday, 21st October, with kick-off set at 2pm (BST).

The young Magpies kicked off their Youth League campaign with a 3-2 home defeat against defending champions FC Barcelona before falling to a 2-0 loss against Union Saint-Gilloise in Belgium last week.

The star-studded youth tournament which will mirror the new format of the UEFA Champions League with an initial 36-team league phase.

They will, however, play just the first six parallel fixtures in the Youth League league phase, in contrast to the eight matches contested in the Champions League.
