Luis Enrique has had such huge success in his time at PSG that it’s easy to forget how recently he arrived there. We’ve just reached the end of his third campaign in charge, and there was a major turning point at the end of the first as it turns out.

PSG were very keen on signing Joshua Kimmich from Bayern Munich, as the Germany star revealed in a recent interview.

Kimmich on Bayern deal that almost happened

“I spoke with the sporting director [Luis Campos] and the coach [Luis Enrique}. I have to say they did an excellent job and gave me the impression that they really wanted me, so naturally, you start to think about it. It really made me think.”

”I was supposed to be an important piece of the puzzle there, as a slightly more experienced player. And that inevitably has an effect on you. Paris made me an offer. The financial aspect was incredible. Really. Very, very incredible, I have to say,” Kimmich said in quotes picked up by Footmercato.
