While FC Bayern is pushing ahead with the signing of Ismael Saibari, another prominent name has appeared on Munich’s wish list. Morgan Rogers of Aston Villa is reportedly open to the idea of a move to Säbener Straße. However, a transfer is likely to fall through due to a major hurdle.
FC Bayern is currently working flat out on the transfer of Ismael Saibari. The Moroccan international from PSV Eindhoven is considered the ideal solution for the offense, and Vincent Kompany wants him signed as soon as possible.
At the same time, however, the Munich club continues to keep an eye on the international market. One of the most intriguing names remains Morgan Rogers of Aston Villa.
The English international is one of the big winners of the past Premier League season and has drawn the attention of numerous top European clubs with his strong performances.
As transfer insider Steve Kay reports, Rogers can particularly envision a move to exactly two clubs: Arsenal and Bayern Munich.
According to the report, the 23-year-old’s advisors have already held “very intensive talks” with both clubs. Other interested parties have not yet progressed beyond initial contact.
For Bayern Munich, this is quite remarkable, as the Premier League traditionally holds great prestige among English players. The fact that Rogers is seriously considering a move to Munich speaks to the international appeal of the record champions.

The biggest hurdle, however, lies in the financial terms. Aston Villa is said to value its attacking star at around 100 million pounds. This amounts to just under 116 million euros.
A sum that neither Arsenal nor Bayern are reportedly willing to invest at this time.
Especially at Säbener Straße, a transfer of this magnitude would be difficult to justify. The Munich club is already planning significant investments for Nathaniel Brown and Ismael Saibari, whose transfers combined could cost well over 100 million euros.
As things stand, Bayern is therefore focusing entirely on signing Saibari. The 25-year-old is expected to cost around 50 million euros and is viewed internally as a versatile reinforcement for the offense. Vincent Kompany, in particular, is considered a strong advocate of the transfer and has personally championed the Moroccan.
Compared to Rogers, Saibari represents the far more realistic solution—both in terms of sports and economics.
However, the possibility of signing Rogers is not entirely off the table.
The Englishman has a profile that fits perfectly with the current direction of many top European clubs. His versatility, dynamism, and goal-scoring threat make him one of the most sought-after attacking players of his generation.
Should Aston Villa significantly reduce their transfer fee demands over the course of the summer or should the economic landscape change, the situation could be reassessed.
At present, however, all signs point to FC Bayern focusing its resources on other transfer targets—most notably Ismael Saibari. For now, Rogers remains an extremely intriguing but financially difficult-to-secure candidate.
