‘Very Much On Tottenham’s Radar’ – Everton Could Face Competition For Ligue 1 Target | OneFootball

Everton may well face competition from Tottenham Hotspur in the chase for Algeria striker Amine Gouiri, as the player is ‘very much on Tottenham’s radar’.

Toffees boss David Moyes wants to bring in a centre forward with Beto being linked with a move to Fiorentina in the ongoing window.

The striker was also offered to Juventus last week in a sign that things are moving behind the scenes which could lead to a Hill Dickinson exit.

Marseille star Gouiri is on Everton’s transfer wish list, but he has admirers in La Liga in the form of Sevilla, who want to sign him on loan.

Gouri could well move from Marseille, who are cash-strapped and want to sell, and it seems to also be on the radar at Tottenham as an option.

Spurs are going through a rebuild under Roberto De Zerbi this season and they have been very active in the market to back their boss.

Tottenham have just completed the signing of Savio from Manchester City and he is expected to be the first of many attacking arrivals to come in through the door.

Spurs were linked with Gouiri early in the window, but the trail went cold as they focused on adding in defence and midfield.

However, according to Italian daily Corriere dello Sport, Everton target Gouiri is still ‘very much on Tottenham’s radar’.

French giants Marseille are looking for a €25m fee to sanction a move for Gouiri, who has three years left on his contract st the Stade Velodrome.

Last term Gouiri made 16 goal contributions in all competitions and begun the ongoing campaign with two goals in Marseille’s opening game against Strasbourg.

The Ligue 1 outfit are in a difficult financial situation and they are under pressure to sell to balance their books, which Spurs and Everton could look to utilise in the ongoing window.

In the event of Beto’s departure, Thierno Barry will be the sole centre forward option at Everton and they might have to step up their interest in the coming days.

Whether Tottenham view Gouiri as a first choice option or a backup in the event preferred targets do not arrive before next week is for now unclear.
