Denmark manager Lars Knudsen has heaped praise on Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen amid his impressive form in the current season.

Eriksen struggled for form and consistency with the Red Devils last term. He managed just one goal and three assists from 28 appearances across all competitions.

However, he has already matched that tally during the ongoing campaign. He has amassed three goals and an assist from just six outings for the Mancunian giants.

Speaking to Tipsbladet (via SportWitness), Knudsen described Eriksen as an incredibly skilled player and said that it is very pleasing that he has picked up form.

He said: “It is very pleasing that Christian has come to play more. Christian is an incredibly skilled player. He has a high, international level and he is important to us.

“It’s really gratifying for Christian and it’s gratifying for us. You can see in Christian that he has hit a flow, so it is just enormously gratifying.”

Eriksen has had a good start to the season. He had a couple of good outings for Denmark last month and has followed up with stand-out performances for United.

The 32-year-old recently scored with a sublime first-time effort versus FC Twente, but he turned from hero to villain in the second half after a huge defensive error.

Eriksen was a second half substitute in the 3-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League, but he could be reinstated into the starting XI against Porto on Thursday.

United travel to Portugal for the Europa League clash. Eriksen could get the nod over Mason Mount in the number eight role with Kobbie Mainoo having picked up an injury.
