Sky Germany reports that VfB Stuttgart winger Jamie Leweling is of interest to Premier League side Bournemouth.
The 24-year-old is said to be seen as a replacement for Antonie Semenyo, who has been linked with a move to Manchester City at the start of the winter transfer window.
Bournemouth are even said to have made a verbal offer worth €40m for the winger, but Stuttgart have already rejected the offer as they do not want to lose Leweling in the winter window. The winger has been one of their better players in recent weeks.
Last summer, fellow Premier League side Nottingham Forest had an offer worth €25m rejected by Stuttgart for Leweling.
This season, the 24-year-old has four goals and seven assists in 24 games in all competitions for Sebastian Hoeneß’s side, who currently sit sixth in the Bundesliga and are on the verge of qualification for the next round of the Europa League.
In terms of depth on the right, Stuttgart have summer signings Badredine Bouanani and Lazar Jovanovic at their disposal, in the event that Leweling decides to push for a move to England. However, considering Bournemouth are sitting in the bottom half of the table and are not playing European football, there is not as much draw to make the switch in this window.
