VfB Stuttgart are exploring a renewed move for 19-year-old Sidiki Chérif as their pursuit of Dženan Pejčinović falters. According to Sky Germany, the club have revived interest in the Fenerbahçe forward.
Pejčinović is keen to leave relegated VfL Wolfsburg for Stuttgart, however the clubs have yet to agree a fee, so alternatives are being assessed.
Stuttgart tried to land Chérif in the winter window but lost out when he left SCO Angers for Fenerbahçe for €18 million around seven months ago, a deal sealed amid rival interest.
After 17 appearances and only three goals, the Istanbul club are open to a swift exit for Chérif. The report added that Stuttgart may already have opened talks over a transfer.
The shape of any deal remains unclear. The Frenchman is contracted to Fenerbahçe until 2030.
