Stuttgart are looking to get back to winning ways in the Europa League after two successive defeats against Basel and Fenerbahce, following a winning start against Celta Vigo back in September.

Back on home soil for the first time since matchday one, Sebastian Hoeneß's side take on Dutch giants Feyenoord

Stuttgart saw their impressive five-match winning run in the Bundesliga come to an end over the weekend, losing 3-1 on the road against RB Leipzig. Stuttgart, though, still sit in the Champions League places, after their recovery from a poor start to the season leaves them occupying fourth, two points behind Borussia Dortmund.

On the team news front, Hoeneß is expected to welcome Stefan Drljaca and Justin Diehl back into the fold later this month, while striker Ermedin Demirovic remains out for the foreseeable future.

He confirmed at his Wednesday press conference that both Lorenz Assignon and Dan-Axel Zagadou have resumed training, with the latter recently returning to the lineup in a 2-1 win against Mainz after a long period on the sidelines.

Hoeneß also confirmed that Ramon Hendriks - born just over 20km away from Rotterdam - will miss the clash against his boyhood club due to a muscle issue.

Feyenoord themselves sit at the top of the Eredivisie standings, with Robin van Persie's side picking up 28 points across their opening 11 matches, leaving them level on points with reigning champions PSV.

The injury list for the Rotterdam outfit remains much more extensive than that of Stuttgart.

Liam Bossin, Justin Bijlow, Jordan Bos and Oussama Targhalline are all expected to return later this month, while Malcolm Jeng and Tomas Beelen won't return until the Christmas period.

Heading into the clash in Swabia, Jakub Moder and Gernot Trauner are both doubts.

Predicted lineup

Feyenoord - 4-3-3: Wellenreuther - Read, Ahmedhodzic, Watanabe, Smal - Steijn, Timber, Valente - Hadj Moussa, Ueda, Sauer
