VfL Bochum 1848 have extended Colin Kleine-Bekel’s contract until 2029.

The club said in a statement that the 23-year-old centre-half will spend 2026-27 on loan at FC St. Gallen, the reigning Swiss runners-up and cup winners.

Kleine-Bekel was also at St. Gallen last season, scoring one goal in 16 matches.

The former Dortmund U-19 vice-captain began his senior professional career with Holstein Kiel in the summer of 2022.

He worked his way into Kiel’s first team and achieved Bundesliga promotion before moving to Bochum in May 2025.
