Bayern Munich will be determined to issue a response on Sunday afternoon as they take on Bundesliga strugglers VfL Bochum away from home.
Next up for Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga is a trip to VfL Bochum. Still reeling from their 4-1 defeat to FC Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League, Vincent Kompany's side will look to flex their muscle and claim a comfortable win against the struggling Bochum.
Amid their dismal start to the season, VfL Bochum parted ways with head coach Peter Zeidler earlier this week. The Ruhr club has yet to win a game this season and will be led by interim head coach Markus Feldhoff on Sunday.
Despite all of Bochum's struggles, they did come close to pulling off an upset against Borussia Dortmund before folding in the second-half. Bayern will have to be wary of that, especially away from home. Bochum will be without key duo Myron Boadu and Matúš Bero on Sunday.
Bayern Munich go into the game having won just one of their last five games. Kompany's attack-minded style of play has come under a bit of criticism as a result. But there remains hope that Bayern will soon find some defensive discipline to go with their all-out attacking approach.
Harry Kane will lead the charge for Bayern on Sunday, and Jamal Musiala could also return to the starting XI after coming off the bench against Barcelona. We could see a few more tweaks to the lineup with Konrad Laimer and Leroy Sané among those who will hope to play from the start.
Aleksandar Pavlović, Sacha Boey, Hiroki Ito, and Josip Stanišić remain sidelined with injuries for Bayern Munich.
