Victor Osimhen compatriot Akpe Victory on Benfica radar for 2026/27 | OneFootball

Benfica have placed 19-year-old Nigerian centre-back Akpe Victory of Zalaegerszegi on their radar for 2026/27.

According to Glorioso 1904, the 1.95-metre defender, a compatriot of Victor Osimhen, has impressed in Hungary and is under consideration to strengthen the back line.

He has one goal and one assist in 15 games this season. He joined last term on a free from Daugavpils of Lithuania after 32 appearances there.

The player is also being tracked by clubs across Europe, with interest from Germany, Spain, France, Scotland and Switzerland. Benfica have so far held only exploratory talks and made no formal offer.

Any move would likely require around €5 million, part of a broader plan to bolster the defence. Centre-back is a priority and the club could recruit one or two defenders.

Nicolás Otamendi is increasingly close to ending his time at Benfica. The Argentine, out of contract at the end of the season, has reportedly told the board he does not intend to renew.
