Victor Osimhen's agent has dismissed talk of the Napoli striker signing for Manchester United as nothing more than 'strange rumours'.
Since joining Napoli for what was a club-record €80m fee in 2020, Osimhen has been excellent, getting 27 goals in 57 games for the Italian club.
Such performances have led to the Nigerian being linked with some of the biggest clubs in the world, none more so than Manchester United.
There was talk of a swap deal in the summer with him heading to Old Trafford and Cristiano Ronaldo going the other way but his agent, Roberto Calenda, says his client always wanted to stay put.
“There are many clubs interested in Victor but he wants to stay, he’s really happy with Napoli project," he told Radio Kiss Kiss.
“We’ve been very clear this summer after strange rumours, he wanted to stay. It was Victor’s will to stay at Napoli and play the Champions League together with his team-mates. Victor wanted just that: to have a great year with Napoli, between the league and the Champions League.
“He has a long contract with the blue club. The market is dynamic, but our will is to continue with Napoli and continue to do well.”
Another club that he has been heavily linked with is PSG, and it looks more likely than ever that they'll try to sign him with the French champions looking to bring in a striker to please Kylian Mbappe, who is unhappy that they failed to do so in the summer.
