Former Celtic defender Alexandro Bernabei scored an absolutely stunning strike for Internacional as they beat Corinthians. The left fullback cut inside before firing a curled effort into the corner.

Bernabei arrived at Celtic expected to break Greg Taylor’s hold on the left back slot at the club. Like so many before him, Bernabei was unable to oust the Scottish International from the starting XI under Ange Postecoglou or Brendan Rodgers.

The 25-year-old left Celtic to join Internacional, initially on loan, before departing for £4.5m – a small profit on the outlay that Celtic made in 2022. Curiously enough, Celtic could make a profit from a sell-on clause inserted into the deal that they struck to send the player back to South America.
