Fabrizio Romano informed everyone this week that Benoit Badiashile was heading to Italy this week to do his medical with Napoli – and sure enough, here we have a video of him at a clinic looking happy as he prepares to confirm his move on loan.

By all accounts it’s a €3m loan fee for the year, and the Italian side will have an option to sign him permanently for €27m after that. After a few years of his career which have been heavily disrupted by injury and poor form, he will be desperate to play again regularly.

Chelsea need to prepare for another Badiashile battle next summer

Chelsea have taken all summer to negotiate this deal, but we all know what’s going to happen – even if the former Monaco man does well, there’s no way Napoli will take up that option. They’ll spend all of next summer battling to get that price down even just a little.

Still, it’s another player ticked off the long list of Chelsea first team squad members who need a move.

We wish him all the best out there – Italy may suit him.

In other news…

Chelsea are trying to clear up their squad, and have a move in mind for flop striker Deivid Washington.
