FC Sheriff fans celebrated Cristiano Ronaldo’s goal last night.
I didn’t see it at the time, but videos surfaced online after the match showing opposition fans copying Ronaldo’s favoured ‘SUI’ celebration after Manchester United’s second goal.
It is not something you would see in the Champions League but — at the same time — we must realise that FC Sheriff are not even a side taken seriously in the Europa League. The Moldovan outfit were abysmal last night and I hate to think how bad Omonoia are going to be if they’re the weakest team in the group.
Ronaldo scored his first goal of the season and his first in the Europa League last night, however, I doubt he expected Sheriff fans to join him celebrating United’s second of the night.
The Sheriff fans joining in with the ‘SIUUUU’ chant after Cristiano Ronaldo scored against them 🐐😂–
Footage from the stands
You can hear a couple of boos while Ronaldo steps up to take his penalty but they completely forget themselves when he celebrates near the corner flag.
