Video: Inter’s Calhanoglu opens 2026-27 Serie A scoring with a screamer | OneFootball

Inter midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu scored the first goal of the 2026-27 Serie A season with a trademark screamer, dispatching a first-time effort into the roof of the net from outside the penalty area to send the reigning champions 1-0 up against newly-promoted Monza.

The 2026-27 Serie A season is now underway, beginning with the 17.30 BST kick-offs between Inter vs. Monza and Udinese vs. Como on Saturday evening.

It took less than six minutes for Calhanoglu to get off the mark for the season, nailing a powerful first-time finish into the roof of the Monza net from over 25 yards out after receiving the cut-back from new-found right wing-back Andy Diouf.

The 32-year-old, now into the final year of his contract with Inter, ended the 2025-26 season with nine goals and two assists to his name from 22 appearances in Serie A.
