A three-time Portugal international, Joao Mario has spent most of his career either at right-back or right wing-back, which is where Igor Tudor is expected to use him in Turin.
The 25-year-old provided one assist in three appearances in the recent Club World Cup in which his Porto side was eliminated in the group phase.
Last season, he provided three assists in 27 league appearances and collected two more decisive passes in eight Europa League matches.
