The summer is fast approaching, and that means the likes of Daily Telegraph Chelsea correspondent Matt Law are ramping up with tons of transfer news and views for what is set to be a really busy period.

They snagged him for the London is Blue podcast to see what his thoughts were on the season so far and the summer to come. We’ve already heard about his transfer views, but what does he think of our performances? And what does he think of Enzo Maresca’s future?

Chelsea fans have been frustrated with manager Enzo Maresca, and many of them would like him gone, but according to Law that doesn’t seem likely:

“I don’t hear any of the noises I was hearing last season around Pochettino,” Law said.

“I’ve had nothing to suggest at this stage that finishing 6th [will see Maresca sacked]. That’s not to say it’s impossible… but usually you’d start to hear the little tell-tale noises at this stage. And I don’t hear any of that at the moment.”

Even in the event that Chelsea missed out on the Champions League and lost the Conference League final, Law didn’t want to predict that Maresca could go:

“That would be an embarrassment, and I think the double blow of that would cause people to say it’s been a bad season to be honest with you…. that’s a bad season, and I think there would have to be some serious conversations about why that would happen.”

But even that doesn’t seem to precipitate Maresca’s exit, according to Law. It looks like we really are committed to keeping him no matter what happens in these final weeks.
