Nicolas Jackson and Marc Cucurella were excellent for Chelsea today in their win over Everton at home today, and TNT Sports chose to speak to them after full time about the game and their hopes for the rest of the season.
“We know now every game is a final, today we played at home, last week we made a good comeback and built some confidence. Today was a great chance to get 3 points and we did it,” Cucurella said.
Jackson scored a great goal from outside the box, taking the shot on early to catch out Jordan Pickford. He agreed that that decision had been crucial in managing to beat the England keeper:
“Yeah, it was a very good goal, I’m very happy to be back. I had two chances already like that in the game, the third one I thought ‘ok, I’m going to hit it’, and hopefully it will go in. It feels very good to be back, everybody knows coming back from injury isn’t easy. But my body feels good and I’m coming back to my level. And we won, that’s the most important thing,” Jackson said.

Cucurella was great today, despite the fact that he was tucking in more than usual, with Moises Caicedo playing at right back and inverting into midfield. Jackson did his part with a great goal.
We need them both to continue playing at this level if we want to finish in the top 5. There are tougher tests to come in the next few weeks. Jackson can hopefully build on this goal and add a few more.
