Well, that SHOULD be enough to get Chelsea 3 points tonight.

The Blues have been dominant all day, but as the clocked ticked on and they continued to fail to score, there’s no denying there were nerves at Stamford Bridge. We kept saying Chelsea would need a second goal, and finally they have it.

Players made mistakes, players mad bad decisions – and Nicolas Jackson was guilty of the worst miss of all as he spooned a close range shot over the bar after great work from Jadon Sancho. But the Senegal star persevered and he’s just scored the goal we needed in the 82nd minute to probably seal the deal.

It was the team in full flight. Moises Caicedo won the ball, Enzo Fernandez passed it forward, Jackson carried it forward and lashed a shot which beat Mark Flekken for power at his near post after squaring up Ethan Pinnock and then speeding past him.

Nicolas Jackson knee slides after scoring against Brentford.

Jackson hopes latest goal can spark another

Jackson’s form had dipped a little in recent weeks following a superb start to the season, but he’s always out there working away and he’ s key part of this team. It was sad to see him leave the pitch so frustrated against Tottenham last week. He didn’t look delighted tonight either, but he applauded the fans and knew he’d got the crucial goal. He’s hard on himself, and knows he can do better.

The upcoming fixtures are really juicy, and hopefully Jackson can really feast and get his numbers up through a busy Christmas schedule. This team are really flying, and if he keeps scoring, we’ll keep winning.

UPDATE: Brentford score… hold on to your hats.
