Chelsea have added a second goal, and it looks like they may kill off this tie tonight.

Noni Madueke has been a threat all night, and after seeing one chance go over the bar, he made no mistake with his second sight of goal. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall picked out Enzo Fernandez on the edge of the box, and with one assist already in the books, the Argentine added another when he poked the ball across to the arriving Madueke who swept down the outside.

We’ve now seen the England international threaten down the left and the right in the last two games. That versatility, as well as his directness, is just why Enzo Maresca likes him, and why most fans want him in the team despite some quite serious flaws remaining in his game.

It wasn’t the cleanest finish from the left footed as he squeezed it into the near post, but it got the job done.

We wanted Madueke to up his goalscoring contribution this season, and he’s done just that. This is his 11th goal of the season if you include the Conference League qualifiers in the total.

We would imagine he’s Enzo Maresca’s first choice to start on the wing opposite Pedro Neto this weekend, so Maresca is probably pretty likely to take him off sharpish.

Let’s hope that his goalscoring form into this weekend’s game. It’s one thing to score against the team 11th in the Swedish top flight, it’s another to do it in a huge game against Liverpool which is a must win to stay in the race for the top 5 and a Champions League place.
