Federico Valverde reacted angrily after being substituted during Real Madrid’s 4-1 win over Real Sociedad at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Valverde’s reaction catches attention

Federico Valverde was clearly frustrated after being taken off during Real Madrid’s convincing 4-1 victory over Real Sociedad in La Liga.

The Uruguayan midfielder scored Madrid’s third goal with powerful long-range shot continuing his strong form. However head coach Alvaro Arbeloa decided to substitute him in the 73 minute bringing on Brahim Diaz.

Valverde did not hide his anger. Footage shared by ESPN showed the midfielder kicking ice box near the bench spilling its contents before sitting down.

The goal against Sociedad was Valverde’s first league goal of the season.

Real Madrid in strong domestic form

The incident came on night where Real Madrid once again showed their strength in domestic competition. The win extended their winning streak to eight matches in La Liga during which they scored 21 goal and conceded only four.

Madrid now sit top of the league table with 60 point after 24 match despite having played one game more than Barcelona.

It is the club’s third-best points tally at this stage of a season, behind only the 2011 /12 and 2023 /24 campaigns both of which ended with league titles.

Attack and defense click under Arbeloa

Under Arbeloa, Real Madrid have won all five league matches scoring 12 goal and conceding just two. The team has also shown strong defensive control allowing 49 shot across those five game, with only eight on target.

The attacking output has been shared among nine different players. Kylian Mbappe leads the scoring run with seven goals, followed by Gonzalo with four and Vinicius Junior with three.

Against Real Sociedad, Madrid needed just 11 shot to score four goal showing high efficiency in front of goal.

Europe still a concern

Despite their league dominance, Real Madrid have struggled in Europe. They conceded 12 goal in eight Champions League matches and missed out on direct qualification to the quarter-finals.

Arbeloa admitted the challenge ahead before the trip to Lisbon saying the situation remains complicated.
