Chelsea scored four goals in a frenzied first half salvo tonight against Noah, reducing this game to something even less competitive than a July friendly after just 20 minutes played.

Still, there were 70 of the damned things left to sit through, and there are plenty of players trying to show their manager what they can do out there. By the end of the game Enzo Maresca’s men had added a few more.

Mykhailo Mudryk is shining in this competition, and his strike for the fifth was gorgeous – a rollover, a step inside, then a ball lashed into the far corner. His non-celebration celebration was fun too.

You can see the goal in the clips embedded here:

Joao Felix bags a second goal.

Felix grabs second of the night after rapid breakaway

Number 6 was Joao Felix getting his second of the night – although it was aesthetically ruined by a defender trying to block it. At this stage you really had to wonder what the away side are doing. They’re 4 down in the first half but still pushing men forward. They were caught on the break, with Axel Disasi dashing forward and playing a nice ball to Felix.

Nkunku double completes the set

Next up (now into the second half) was Christopher Nkunku, moved up top for the second period and celebrating with a goal. After a silky Felix nutmeg, the Frenchman bore down on goal but saw his chipped effort denied. Luckily the rebound fell to Nkunku, who put it away from a tight angle.

Nkunku followed that effort up with a late penalty which made it 8 and really shut the game down. An easy night, lots of fun for the fans to enjoy, and plenty for Enzo Maresca to think about…
