Viktor Gyökeres is on the radar of Bayern Munich as a move away from Sporting CP becomes all the more likely next summer, according to Sport Bild.
The Swedish international is the most desirable forward in European football right now. Currently in sensational form for Sporting, the 26-year-old most recently showed his class when he scored four against Manchester City in the Champions League.
As per the report, Gyökeres could go for as cheap as €75m next summer, considerably less than the €100m exit clause which was first reported.
This will undoubtedly spark interest from several clubs in Europe, including Bayern Munich.
It’s unsure yet whether Bayern will put their time and money into trying to tempt the forward to Bavaria.
They already have Harry Kane in the forward position and will also look to redevelop in wide positions.
Bayern have already been linked with the likes of Florian Wirtz next summer so it’s unlikely that Bayern would push for Gyökeres when they have more pressing matters in different areas.
However, for €75m Bayern may see this as a wise investment for the future – but this is long stretch.
By far the favourites to sign Gyökeres so far is Manchester United. With former Sporting head coach Ruben Amorim heading to Manchester this week, there is already a strong link between the player and the Premier League side.
Amorim has ruled out trying to sign any Sporting players this winter but in the summer he may attempt to persuade Gyökeres to join him in England.
