Gyokeres is now into double figures for goals in the Premier League
Viktor Gyokeres has admitted he was not completely satisfied with his performance despite scoring a brace in Arsenal’s 4-1 rout over Tottenham on Sunday afternoon.
Gyokeres netted at the start and end of the second half to seal a comfortable victory for Mikel Arteta’s side.
However, the Swede, who has come under fire this season, acknowledged that there were aspects of his performance he was not happy with at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Asked whether this was his best performance in an Arsenal shirt, Gyokeres said he could have done “a few bits better” despite having now scored ten league goals this season.
"In some aspects, I think it was a good one. In some others, I think it could've done a few bits better,” Gyokeres admitted.
“It was a tough game. I think we showed much better things on the pitch today,”
Gyokeres had the measure of Tottenham’s defence in the first-half, and his goal two minutes after the restart put Arsenal in control before he sealed the victory with a composed finish in the 94th minute.
The 27-year-old has faced criticism since arriving at Arsenal last summer for his unpolished style and failure to influence games, but his first goal against Spurs - beating Joao Palhinha to the ball before powering his shot past Guglielmo Vicario - was unerring, and Gyokeres admitted it was a move he had worked on in training.
"I think we do that a few times in training, and then I watched his goal against these last game. I tried to replicate that a little bit, and it worked, so it's a nice goal."

Arsenal reacted emphatically to Wednesday’s draw away to Wolves at Molineux, with Gyokeres and Eberechi Eze both scoring morale-boosting braces to extend the Gunners’ lead at the top of the table to five points.
It was a dominant performance and a crucial three points for Arteta’s side, and the Arsenal boss heaped praise on Gyokeres, admitting it was the Swedish international’s most complete performance since his £63.5million move from Sporting.
"For me, the best, the most complete and especially when we need him most, and that is when big players and big clubs have to stand up when you are needed,” Arteta added.
