Villarreal said in a statement that, in agreement with Betis, both teams will enter the pitch on Monday wearing shirts supporting the people of Ceuta, the Spanish enclave facing a major migration crisis.

The gesture will precede Villarreal’s home game against Betis at 21:00, on matchday five of La Liga.

The shirts will carry the phrase "Nous sommes tous des Caballas", using the popular nickname for Ceuta’s residents.

The club described the move as a sign of solidarity with the autonomous city and its citizens amid a particularly complex period in recent weeks due to the migration crisis.

Several thousand migrants who had remained in Ceuta after events in July have returned to Morocco. Tensions continue to rise, with Spain and Morocco blaming each other amid diplomatic strains.
