Villarreal confirm final pre-season friendly as Iñigo Pérez era begins | OneFootball

Villarreal have mapped out their 2026/27 pre-season under new head coach Iñigo Pérez, capped by a final friendly away to the champions of Türkiye, Galatasaray, on 8 August.

According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, the squad report next week for medical and fitness tests on 6, 7 and 8 July at the Ciudad Deportiva José Manuel Llaneza, with the first session on grass set for Thursday 9.

The first warm-up takes them to Portugal, where they face Benfica on Friday 17 July at 20.45 at the Estadio Algarve in Faro.

They then visit PSV Eindhoven on Saturday 25 July at 18.00 in the Philips Stadion. Four days later comes a double date in the Como Cup, staged in Italy from 28 July to 1 August, with matches on Wednesday 29 July against AIUla SC at 19.00 and Como 1907 at 22.00 at the Estadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia.

It is scheduled at RAMS Park in Istanbul at 20.00 Spanish time, serving as a dress rehearsal a week before the league campaign begins.

Villarreal start LaLiga EA Sports the weekend of 16 August with a trip to Racing Club at El Sardinero, opening the season away from the Estadio de la Cerámica. All five friendlies are set in European cities, with Liga, Copa and Champions on the horizon.
