Speaking in an interview with AS, the Argentine highlighted both the unpredictability of Madrid and the importance of Villarreal trusting their own strengths.

Asked what kind of Real Madrid Villarreal should expect, Foyth explained how difficult it is to prepare for a side that can change gears at any moment.

“With Madrid, you never know what to expect. I think we’re a solid team in La Liga, and we need to have confidence in ourselves.

“It’s key to maintain that confidence and solidity in La Liga against teams like Madrid, to stay united as a team despite the last two defeats.”

Support to beat Real Madrid

Foyth then explained the mindset required to face a squad packed with elite talent, insisting that Villarreal must rely on their collective identity rather than individual battles.

“We have to go out and compete as we know how, as a team and as a family.

“Obviously, if you look at their players, they’re the best in the world, but we’re also a good team.”

He added the importance of home support, saying, “We’re here at home with our fans and our family, and that has to count for something.”

There has been debate about Madrid’s current level, but Foyth dismissed any suggestion of weakness.

Pointing to their recent attacking display, he remarked, “I think that whether they’re at a high level or a low level, they’re still one of the best teams in the world.

“I don’t see them at a low level either. The other day, they scored six goals against Monaco. I hope they’ve used up some of their ammunition there.”

Individual quality at Real Madrid

When the conversation turned to Madrid’s star-studded attack, Foyth showed respect across the board, making it clear that Villarreal cannot focus on just one name.

He said, “Mbappe, Vinicius, Mastantuno, Gonzalo, Rodrygo… They’re all top-level players, and that’s how we have to see them.”

Still, he acknowledged the unique challenge posed by Kylian Mbappe, admitting there is no perfect solution.

“I’d like to know. I don’t think anyone knows how to stop a player like Mbappe. In the end, he’ll beat you for speed.”

Praise for Mastantuono

Foyth also had words of praise for his compatriot Franco Mastantuono, highlighting his maturity at such a young age. Reflecting on his progress, he said,

“We’re talking about Real Madrid, which is the biggest club in the world. I don’t think he can be blamed for anything and he’s doing very well.”

He continued, “He’s only 18 years old and has the personality of someone much older, and he’s proving it by playing for one of the best teams in the world.”

Finally, Foyth addressed what a victory would mean, striking a balance between ambition and composure. He concluded,

“It would be a great joy for the fans, and we’re going to fight for it, but with a lot of calm. It’s not good to go out there with that anxiety and that need.

“They’re three very important points, but they’re just three points.”
