Villarreal supporters are already in Dortmund. The club will open their Champions League campaign away to Borussia Dortmund next Tuesday at 21.00, a trip that falls during Vila-real’s festivities. Last year it was London to face Tottenham.
According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, the club opened away-ticket sales yesterday at 50 euros for Signal Iduna Park, a venue Villarreal know well after last season’s sizeable following of around 1,200.
That visit ended in a 4-0 defeat, though the electric atmosphere and the imposing Yellow Wall left a lasting impression on travelling fans.
A smaller travelling support is expected this time. The short turnaround and limited time to organise the trip make flights and accommodation harder to find.
One practical route is to fly to Cologne, then continue on to Dortmund.
Supporters will have further chances to follow the side in Europe. At this stage, the visits to Anfield to face Liverpool and to the Czech Republic to meet Slavia Prague appear the most appealing for travelling fans.
