Villarreal Femenino have set their pre-season plan for 2026/27, returning on 20 July before a busy August of friendlies and a Copa de la Reina opener in September.
According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, medicals run from 20 to 21 July, with the first session on Wednesday 22 July under head coach Jordi Ferriols.
Pre-season begins with Levante Las Planas on seven August, then five days later against Chelsea under-20s. Alhama follow on Sunday 16 August, before Espanyol on 21 August. The warm-up phase continues on 29 August in a triangular with Elche and Murcia, closing on three September versus Levante.
The first competitive match is set for nine September in the Copa de la Reina. The league campaign follows days later, with a debut on 12 or 13 September against Tenerife B in the Canary Islands.
Villarreal have renewed academy trio Zuzanna Sadej, Adriana Casanova and Andrea Catalá. The youngsters will remain tied to the club and join the first-team set-up throughout 2026/27.
These steps strengthen the women’s pathway and shape a squad aiming to compete from day one while promoting homegrown talent.
