Villarreal supply three of La Liga’s five entries in the CIES Football Observatory’s top 100 most valuable under-23s, with Valencia missing entirely. According to Superdeporte, the new study assesses players not contracted to the game’s 10 wealthiest clubs.
Renato Veiga, 17th on 62.7 million euros, leads Villarreal’s trio, with Alberto Moleiro 30th on 56.8 million and Pau Navarro 51st on 47.9 million. Real Sociedad’s Jon Martín ranks 34th at 55.4 million, while Athletic Club’s Mikel Jauregizar is 66th at 40.8 million.
Valencia’s absence comes in a season with scarcely any under-23s after Jesús Vázquez and Diego López turned 23. Midfielder Javi Guerra has not increased the roughly 25 million euros valuation with which he began the campaign. Even so, the Mestalla club continues to feature in CIES reports on leading academies.
Last summer Valencia sold Cristhian Mosquera to Arsenal for 15 million euros plus 4 million. Had he not moved, and kept his October valuation with Arsenal of about 35 million, he would be their only representative in this list.
Juventus talent Kenan Yildiz tops the ranking on 133 million euros. Inter’s Pio Esposito, RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomandé, Bayer Leverkusen’s Christian Kofane and Porto’s Victor Froholdt complete the top five on 95, 84, 81 and 80 million respectively, all contracted at least until 2029.
