All associated with La Liga outfit Villarreal have on Monday breathed a collective sigh of relief.
This comes amid confirmation that Álex Baena has not suffered any form of serious injury.
Midfielder/winger Baena set alarm bells ringing at La Cerámica late last week.
This came after the 23-year-old was forced into a premature departure from the Spanish national team’s Nations League meeting with Denmark.
En route to an eventual 2-1 triumph for Luis de la Fuente’s men, Baena was hauled off early after pulling up with an ankle problem.
Continuing to prove himself one of the star performers in all of La Liga thus far this season, such developments therefore marked an understandable source of concern for those back at Villarreal.
As per Marca, though, the Yellow Submarine neet not fret.
This comes amid confirmation that ‘the footballer has undergone tests on his injured ankle, which have ruled out a serious injury’.
Baena, in fact, could yet even be given the green light to feature in Villarreal’s post-international break return to action against Osasuna this weekend.
