Villarreal’s defeat at Barcelona drew blunt ratings, three players failed while Luiz Júnior stood out. According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, his saves kept the score down.

Luiz Júnior, marked seven, made four stops, three from inside the box. Mouriño earned six for restraining a combative Raphinha, and academy centre-back Pau Navarro also held firm for six.

Renato Veiga took four, often out of position and misaligned with Sergi Cardona. The 1-0 and 3-1 both sprang from his left side.

Cardona was graded three after a torrid time against Lamine Yamal.

In midfield, Santi Comesaña took six for ball recovery and late runs. Pape Gueye’s five reflected tidy use of the ball and a goal, but his turnover gifted the 1-0.

Moleiro rated four, bright early then intermittent and withdrawn. Nico Pepe’s five matched lively movement and dribbling with insufficient conviction.

Mikautadze earned five, mobile and astute with passes yet unable to threaten. Ayoze also took five, missing two clear openings without a goalkeeper, one per half, and finished with cramp.

From the bench, Pedraza was a five under pressure and Buchanan a rapid five. Parejo and Alfon were left unrated.
