Pending official confirmation, Villarreal are close to taking Sevilla's Alfon González on loan until the end of the season, with a non-compulsory option to buy set at seven million euros, according to Superdeporte.
Alfon is travelling to Vila-real to undergo a medical and sign with his new club.
Recently recovered from an injury sustained at the start of the year, Alfon had been on the departures list as Sevilla look to create room under Financial Fair Play for arrivals this window. Villarreal's sporting department, in line with Marcelino, have backed the addition of the winger from Albacete.
The former Celta player joined Sevilla as a free agent a year ago on a deal to June 2028, the final signing concluded by Víctor Orta at the club. He signed a pre-contract and waited to join in July despite receiving other offers.
His season has been curtailed by injuries, limiting him to 13 appearances across LaLiga and the Copa, scoring two goals. At Villarreal, Marcelino views him as cover for the absences of Solomon and Ilias Akhomach.
