According to O Jogo, Francesco Farioli signed a renewal with Porto on Sunday, staged at the city’s historic Livraria Lello.
The setting was chosen to underline renewal and infinity, with the occasion framed by the ouroboros motif, and the bookshop marks 120 years on Tuesday.
A commemorative shirt given to Farioli in the signing images features an ouroboros symbol, selected deliberately. In ancient symbolism it represents continuous movement and self-renewal without losing essence.
The graphic on the shirt is rectangular to resemble a book, reinforcing the choice of a library for the ceremony.
Framed by shelves that connect past and future, the message was that great stories continue to be written. The gesture also aimed to deepen the bond with the city, which has grown since Farioli’s arrival and the Porto family’s message.
