Vini Jr appealed for a penalty after a challenge by Otamendi.

Rafa then put Benfica ahead, before Tchuámeni equalised almost immediately to make it 1-1 on the night and restore Madrid’s aggregate advantage.

The winners will move into the last 16 to face Sporting de Lisboa or Manchester City.
